“Urban Seats” Street Furniture

Conception and realization of a workshop lasting several days with children and young people to design a piece of street furniture according to their wishes. The result is a 6×2.5 m wooden seating sculpture with different seating and reclining areas.

On a small piece of wasteland next to the Hallenser Bürgertreff in Freiimfelde, we designed and built a seating sculpture together with young people from the district. Over the course of several days, the children and young people worked with our team to measure, saw, screw, drill and finally paint their work.

The participants are proud of their piece of furniture. They have created their own place to chill out, and have incidentally upgraded a part of their neighborhood. The workshop was sponsored by Aktion Mensch.
